Steps to Buying A Home – Step 3 – Home Preview and Selection

Steps to Buying A Home – Step 3 – Home Preview and Selection

In today’s segment, we’re going to talk about the fun part of buying a home—the home preview and selection! This is the part where we actually get to go and look at homes, and hopefully where you fall in love with a home you can make your very own. Currently the housing market in the Denver-metro area is HOT, HOT, HOT so if during this step you find a home you love, be ready to pounce!

The first step in this process is to actually find the homes that you want to look at. Our map-based property search engine, www.homesbythepros.com, is a great place to start! It contains information about local schools and community and other helpful information. Simply draw a box around the neighborhood or area you are interested in, and I’ll set up our showings for homes in that area that will suit your needs. I can also help you search and find homes that might be a good fit for you.

Now we get to go visit the homes you chose in person! When previewing a home, it can be valuable to take notes. What do you like about each property? What do you dislike? Make a list of anything you may need to purchase or want to change if you move in (does the living room need new paint? Are appliances included?). Keeping a running tally of your favorite 3 homes is a great idea as well, as it can help make your final decision easier.

As your local RE/MAX agent, I can walk you through how to make sure you are ready for everything involved in the home buying process. Let me show you how I can help. Please send me an email or give me a call and let’s open the door to your dream of home ownership.
